Miss Vicky Jones
RVN MBVNA
Vicky has been with Bay Vets for 10 years and is mainly based at our Milnthorpe surgery. In 2007 she worked in a vet practice near Brisbane, Australia for a year. On her return journey to Bay Vets she spent a month on Koh Phangan in Thailand, where she volunteered in an animal sanctuary. At home Vicky has two dogs, Fen (a Vizla) and Jai (a German Wirehaired Pointer), several birds of prey and some ferrets.

Mrs Joanne McCartney
RVN MBVNA
Jo started work at Bay Vets in 1997 as a receptionist, but soon became more hands on with the animals, qualifying as a RVN (nurse) in 2004. Since having her two children, Jo works part time at the Lancaster branch where she enjoys all aspects of her job, but especially caring for her feline friends. Of which, she has three of her own at home.

Mrs Heather Joyce
RVN MBVNA
Until her thirties Heather worked as a Personal Assitant at which point she made a career change to follow her childhood ambition to become a veterinary nurse. As well as all of her nursing skills she is very involved in other aspects of practice administration, for example, promotions and newsletters.

Miss Louise Ashmore
RVN MBVNA
Louise has worked for Bay vets for over 10 years. She started at the Morecambe branch and still spends the majority of her worktime there. She is involved in all aspects of nursing care for the animals and can also be found helping out on reception. When not at work, Louise likes socialising with friends and taking care of her 2 beautiful girls and partner, and her horse and puss cat.

Mrs Mary Bench
RVN BSc(Hons) Veterinary Nursing
Mary has been nursing for 4 years and recently qualified with an honors degree in Veterinary Nursing from UCLAN. She enjoys the varied nature of nursing - from puppy parties to assisting vets in theatre and everything in between! In her spare time she goes to rock music festivals and gigs and looks after her pets including a new kitten.

Mrs Stephanie Lindsay
Auxiliary Nurse
After completing a Diploma in Animal Care at Lancaster and Morecambe College, Stephanie joined our Morecambe surgery. She has worked at Bay Vets since 2004 as an auxiliary nurse. Stephanie has been trained in Pre and Post Operative Care as well as regularly working at the reception desk. Stephanie is married with three teenage children, and their house is home to a wide range of pets, from 2 lurchers to marine fish and praying mantis!

Mrs Emma Read
RVN MBVNA BSc(Hons) Animal Behaviour and Welfare
After completing a National diploma in Animal Care and BSc in Animal Behaviour and Welfare at Myerscough college Emma achieved her dream of becoming a vet nurse, qualifying in 2009. She joined Bay Vets in the summer of 2010 where she thoroughly enjoys all aspects of her job. In her spare time Emma enjoys catching up with friends and family and looking after her animals - a ginger cat 'pumpkin', her guineapigs and walking her crazy cross breed dog.

Miss Gemma James
Auxiliary Nurse
Gemma has recently joined the Bay Vets Team at our Lancaster Surgery. She previously worked as a zoo keeper at Blackpool Zoo for 14 years and has experience with animals as diverse as kangaroos, elephants and ferrets.
In her spare time Gemma enjoys walking her dog 'Jake' the Jack Russell Cross in the local countryside and spending time with family and friends.

Miss Kirsty Thomson
Auxiliary Nurse
Kirsty first came to the practice as a work experience student in 2007 and has now started her honours degree in Veterinary Nursing. She works at all three of our practices and enjoys the varied nature of the job. At home she enjoys cuddling up with her two cats, Kira and Blaze, and looking after her two guinea pigs, Evan and Rusty.

Miss Annaka Lee
RVN MBVNA
Since leaving college Annaka has always worked in the pet industry. She has worked in practice for 3 years, qualifying as a VN (nurse) in 2010 and joined Bay Vets nursing team this autumn working at both Lancaster and Morecambe. In her spare time Annaka does a lot of amateur dramatics and enjoys walking her retriever Henry.

Miss Lauren Williams
RVN FdSc Veterinary Nursing
Lauren qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2009. She joined Bay Vets in Feb 2012. Lauren enjoys all aspects of nursing and has a keen interest in companion animal behaviour. In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors horse riding and training her much loved Labrador Beau in Agility and working Gundog tests

Miss Beth Acton
Student Nurse
Beth came to Bay Vets as a work experience student in May 2007. She enjoyed her time with the Bay Vets Team especially the nursing skills, and this confirmed that she would aim for a career in Veterinary Nursing. At present she is studying a Foundation Degree in Veterinary Nursing at Myerscough College. In her spare time she loves to walk her dog Jazz, a black Labrador and being with her family and friends.
