Puppy Parties and Care

During the first 16 weeks of life your puppy is much more adaptable than it will be later on.  Therefore it is very important to get it used to lots of different experiences during this “socialisation period”.  Click the link below to download your own socialisation programme to record and remind you to have your puppy experience as many different situations as possible.

Since Covid and lockdown, many of us have experienced changes in how we work and how much time we spend at home. Pet ownership increased significantly during 2019-2022, and the behaviour of these “lockdown puppies” has undoubtedly been impacted consequentially. During lockdown, one of our RVNs produced the below video, which is still relevant and should be considered for socialisation and desensitisation purposes when training a puppy.

The below video also made by one of our RVNs addresses ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ relating to topics such as diet, toilet training and teething when a new puppy is welcomed to the family.

Parvovirus is one of the main life-threatening diseases puppies are susceptible to. In the below video, Vet Katie Kyle discusses what Parvovirus is and how we can protect our pets.

Anxiety in dogs increased following lockdown, and the below video was created with this in mind. Similar to Socialisation and desensitisation above though, teaching a puppy to relax is important lockdown or not!
