Out Of Hours

Out Of Hours

Giving you peace of mind 24 hours a day

Your pet can’t decide when they’re going to feel poorly or cause themselves an injury. When they do who is the first person you call? The vet. But what if your pet needs veterinary attention after the surgery has closed for the night?

At Bay Vets we offer an out-of-hours service to all of our registered patients. This means that should you need emergency advice, or an appointment to see the vet once our surgeries are closed, there is always someone to help you. Although our surgeries are not manned on a 24 hour basis, but if you call any of the surgery numbers they will automatically go through to the on call Veterinary Surgeon to assist you. Some hospitalised patients may be left for some periods unsupervised overnight but only in safe conditions.

We appreciate that you want to speak to a vet when you’re worried about your furry friend. If you’ve called us late in the evening, you want professional advice. Over the phone, one of our veterinary surgeons will advise you on how to care for your pet until the morning, or whether they recommend you bring them to practice immediately.

Not only is our out of hours service there for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it is also run by our very own staff; the nurses, surgeons and support staff you will see at one of our surgeries in the daytime.

If you ever require emergency care for your pet, or need urgent advice out of practice hours, please don’t hesitate to call your local Bay Vets branch. You will then be put through to our emergency service which runs from our Lancaster surgery (but also covers our Caton, Morecambe and Milnthorpe patients).

Does your pet need to see us and how urgent is it? Please use our symptom guide to find out
